Maternity Leave Full Pay for 20 Weeks. Business and taxpayers face £2bn bill under Brussels plans to give new mothers 20 weeks leave on FULL pay. If the big boss Brussels wants us to do then we will do this plan soon and it will cost £2bn to taxpayers and Business. The UK Government opposes the Pregnant Workers Directive, but Labour’s socialist EU allies backed it.
The plan would effectively treble statutory maternity pay in the UK, which currently provides women with six weeks at 90 per cent of salary, followed by a longer period on a basic £123 a week.

More than 3,600 BASSA members voted in the poll – about a third of BA’s cabin crew staff. The findings are important as officials will consult members before setting strike dates later this week.
It also emerged that militants are boasting that strike action could hit the Easter holidays, disrupting the travel plans of ten of thousands of families.
