Study Abroad: Valued by Employers in the Midst of the Globalizing World
May 21st
Studies show that employers prefer their employees to have Studied Abroad, as they have given the opportunity to broaden their mindsets into new heights, and that is needed for a company that accepts new ideas in the midst of globalization. Another study shows that employers value employees who have Studied Abroad because of its use later on when their careers have established inside their company. This is evident, as cultures have intertwined in different parts of the world, and the need for people who can think local while “acting global” is increasing.
Thus, there are many programs wherein a college graduate, or even an undergraduate, can go into that will help them gain leverage in an increasingly competitive world. There are summer programs, overseas volunteering programs, internships and service learning programs that will enhance one’s experience and knowledge on the world’s cultural diversity. These programs, collectively known as Study Abroad programs, are done during the summer vacation, wherein the students can get an idea on how to spend a meaningful vacation. This program will help them reflect on what are the goals they want to achieve, especially when they are aiming for specific organizations or career paths.
Prerequisites in Completion of Study Abroad Programs
May 21st
International students need to comply with the implemented academic prerequisites for the completion of a specific study abroad program. Different universities abroad have set-up up their own completion requirements and procedure on how to comply with this set of requirements. These requirements serve as the basis for assessing the knowledge and academic compliance that an international has earned in the duration of the course study.
100% attendance in all subject courses is not enough bases to grant an international student the award for the completion of the study abroad program. The student should provide agreeable academic grades all throughout the study duration. In order to meet this requirement, an international student should make enough efforts in studying which are then evaluated by the educators of that particular school or university. The result of great efforts in studying will be greatly visible in the grade report or transcript of records.

May 21st
Studying in a different school might give you worries on whether the school has no WiFi access or even Internet access inside its computer laboratories. Well, don’t fret because universities are not universities without these. Almost every university in the world does have Internet access, and some might have even WiFi access for its students who use laptops.
If you’re a part of a Study Abroad program, you should have connected to an international internet service provider to keep you updated about current events in your host country, as well as on your home country. If you’re studying at a university, Internet access is readily available, whether at the computer laboratory, or virtually everywhere via free WiFi connections provided by the university. Sometimes, schools lend Study Abroad program students laptops for assistance and or convenience for the student’s part.
