Assessment Centre Interview Tips for Boots. If you go to an assessment centre for a job at Boots then this will take place at the Nottingham head office. There will be a presentation date and then an assessment event.

At the presentation day you will be informed about the opportunities available and you will be able to ask questions. Although it may not feel like it is an assessment in the formal sense, it is wise to make sure that you ask some questions and come across as keen and interested.

The assessment event will consist of tests of your skills. There will be different activities that you can take part in to see whether you are suitable for the job. There will be group exercises and a numerical reasoning test, which it is wise to prepare for.

It is likely that you will have a video to watch and have to answer questions about it on a customer relations theme. You may have to have a look around a store and discuss what is good and bad with regards to the way products are displayed. You may also be asked to interact with customers, perhaps handing out baskets, asking if they advantage cards or packing their bags, you need to be confident, polite and friendly but not too pushy and make sure you do not squash their shopping!  You may also have to take part in a role play where your skills with dealing with customers are assessed.

It is very wise to make sure that you are aware of the types of products that are sold in Boots as well as any current promotions or new products. You should be able to find this out by looking at their in store magazine or just looking around a few shops. It could be wise to visit a large and small store as they have different stock.

Some of the interview questions you might be asked during your assessment centre interviews:

How different would you treat an elderly lady as a customer to a younger lady?
What’s the nicest thing you’ve done recently?
Tell me about a time you helped someone who didnt ask you for help
Which products do you think customers would rather be left alone with?
Why did you choose boots?
What makes you different than other candidates?
How would I make someone feel comfortable?
