A Civil Engineer is usually interested in designing and building things and the role involves planning, designing and managing construction projects. To do this role you will need to be a qualified Civil Engineer and usually you need to have a solid background in IT and Maths and have a technical nature.

As a Civil Engineer you will be good at studying buildings from bridges to tall buildings and making decisions on how they are best planned and designed. There will be a lot of detail that you need to be able to explain to non technical people so you will need good communication skills and an ability to discuss plans and understand them to explain carefully to client.

Civil Engineering Personal Statement Example

I am an organised and professional Civil Engineer with a degree from (what university, when and any other details) and I have a passion for working on construction projects helping to design and develop these for clients according to their specifications.

I pay great attention to detail, am a real multi tasker and enjoy working on different projects at any one time. I enjoy the variety of this role and the changes that can be made efficiently. I like to ensure that any projects I am working on run on time and within budget.

I am a methodical worker who enjoys working in this environment. I am keen to ensure that I learn and train as much as I can to keep my skills up to date at all times. I am keen to develop my skills in structural buildings and would like to work with a variety of different projects.  I work to strict health and safety guidelines which is important in my role and feel that I have a good understanding.
