I think it is always good to say something positive about the job. Possibly thanking them for the opportunity or saying that you enjoyed your time at the company. Although do make sure it is true! The letter will go on your records and so you need to make sure that it puts you in a positive light both because you may want a reference and because you may want to return to the company in the future.
