Personally, I wouldnt research the interviewer (for a start if its a common name, how can you be sure you have the right person). If you are going to, to try and show you have a good knowledge of the company etc, I would at least explain how you knew this information and why you had looked them up. Something simple like “I wanted to find out about the company/position i would be working in as I could, so i researched online (or wherever you did it) and whilst there came across information about yourself, nice to see you graduated from blah blah” etc – to me, the way you did it would have creeped me out too i’m afraid to say
