500 Jobs to be Created in IT Industry by 3 Companies

    The three companies who between them are to create nearly 500 new jobs across four counties in Ireland. The companies in question are: SAP, Ericksson and Wipro. There are other companies that are recruiting and improving local economy which is excellent news for Ireland.

    SAP – They are looking to increase their staff in the Galway and Dublin regions by 260. SAP already operates in 130 countries including Ireland where it already employs 1,200. It is looking to extend its roles by 60 new positions in research and development roles at its R&D centre in Citywest in Dublin and another 200 technology support positions in Dublin and Galway. These positions will be recruited for by the end of 2014 and as we speak recruitment is currently underway.

    The Managing Director of SAP said that it gives people a vote of confidence to have a recruitment drive and shows that companies are still developing to the future.

    Ericksson – They are looking to create 120 jobs in Dublin and Athlone across their software development, programme management and consultancy areas. They are thrilled to be expanding with the support of the Department of Jobs through the IDA in a ever changing communications technology environment.

    Wipro – are looking to add a further 100 jobs in Shannon and County Clare. Wipro who are an Indian IT consulting and outsourcing company currently employ 200 people delivering IT and business process services to banks and financial service businesses across Ireland and the UK.  They have been established in Ireland since 2012.

    Spence & Partners – are looking to increase their staff by 107 over five years as part of an £8 million investment in the Northern Ireland economy.

    There are a massive amount of new jobs announced to be created in various sectors and areas around Ireland which is excellent news for the future and the local economy.
