New Jobs in Herefordshire
Supermarket chain Tesco has confirmed that its plans to bring a small sized supermarket to Bromyard in Herefordshire will create 80 new jobs for the area.
The official application is to be submitted to Herefordshire Council this summer, but the UK’s largest retail chain has stated that it plans to construct the store on the location of the earlier post office on Tenbury Road in Bromyard.
Tesco is also planning to include a 120-space car parking area that will give motorists up to three hours free parking.
A community exhibition will be held later this year where concerned parties will be able to see the details of the proposal and talk about the planned development with the Tesco panel.
The company said the plans are based on a smaller layout store that would present a specialised food and grocery service, rather than retail the non-food offerings associated with the larger stores.
The company believes that many people currently journey out of the town for their chief weekly food shop, so a new Tesco in Bromyard would give them the ease of shopping in town, saving both time and travel expense.
