A deal has been done to secure the 213 acre site at Hedon aerodrome by an unnamed company. The company cannot be named for legal reasons as the discussions are still going ahead and they are granted sole negotiating rights on the land. The company are hoping that in the next few weeks this can be confirmed and announced.  If it is approved, this would be the first plant of its kind in England.

At the time, it was hoped that a biomass power station would be built and an eco-park for green food crop production and fish farming at a total cost of £250 million. The Leader of Hull’s City Council, Steve Brady said that we have to be patient and that the council are working hard to make sure that Hull City moves forward to a bright future.  The council are looking forward to moving firmly forward and that in the next two to three years they will firmly be on the map and well renowned.

Hull has had a problem with unemployment and this will be good news for the people of hull and the local communities and economy. They are hoping to be able to make other major announcements later in the year too.

Hull and East Yorkshire are being part of the focus on renewable as the region tries to rebrand itself as the Energy Estuary.  It is a very positive time in terms of green technology and looking at what the local area wants and needs to move forward.

Following some major meetings, it is quite clear that companies are willing to invest in the region which is exciting times for East Yorkshire.

If the permission is granted, work is expected to begin on the site early 2015 and will create 40 long terms jobs even when complete.
