Aldi is delighted to confirm that over the remainder of this year they will be expanding their teams by 5,500 new roles both full and part time based in their supermarket stores.
The reason behind this huge expansion is that Aldi are planning to open 50 new stores this year and also are looking to expand 30 of their existing stores allowing for this recruitment programme.

The German owned company, Aldi will be looking to employ people at entry level and apprenticeship level who can learn throughout their company and also general store positions and management roles. This is a very exciting opportunity for Aldi and the communities to which the stores will be opened and expanded throughout the UK.
Aldi have said that the majority of the roles they will be recruiting for will be general supermarket roles rather than Store Management or Assistant Manager level as for these roles they will look to internal staff first.

To deal with this huge expansion and training that the staff employed are going to need to undergo, Aldi have added an Aldi Academy at their Middleton venue in the North West England which will be the main centre for training and development throughout Aldi.
Internally, Managing Director, James Hutcheson said that the company are going to undergo a real challenge to recruit so many staff by the end of 2014 but with unemployment still an issue throughout the UK and being able to offer more opportunities they believe that people are interested in working for a growing retailer and feel there is more room for progression.  By ensuring that all staff are trained effectively prior to joining in their roles and through continuous development it will ensure that Aldi have a long term commitment from their staff for a secure future.
