First you do the group interview. There will be about 10 people in the group, youall sitting around a big table and had name badges on.

You will to talk tothe person next to us for five minutes and learn a bit about them, then introduced them to the rest of the group.

Basically yousay their name, a bit about them, where they live bla bla and whythey want to work at asda. You then get into little groups and do agroup task. Task could be writing a song about dogs or cats etc. however I heard that some people buildt a bridge out of newspapers and thingslike that, basically team work exercises.

The main thing is – theywatch the way you interact so don’t go in there and take over, you needto talk and give your thoughts and listen to other peoples. Make sureyour team works together and includes everyone.

you will have to do a numeracy test as well which is very straight forward too.

My advice for you is go in there and be confident but also listen and take onboard what other people say and do. Be a team player because that’swhat one of the main things ASDA and others look for.

Once you have done the group interview you will have an individualinterview.

    good luck everyone.

Asda interview was 7 managers including night mgrs ,duty mgrs and myself convenience mgr. After we introduced each other we were given tasks on the shop floor mines was 3 good 3 bad about the produce dept, the assessor is watching and writing down what you are doing.Back in the training room we had to write them all down, my down fall part 1 was as a convenience manager I took control of the meeting, don’t get to involved , listen to other people and make sure everyone is involved. We also had a  interview at the end my downfall part 2 they never told us what the vacancy was until we were ready to go home I thought it was a convenience managers job with Netto  UK as they bought them out last year again to much about convenience stores. Ask what the vacancy is at the interview .Asda want good listeners, team players, and write plenty of notes on the paper they give you

Its getting near Christmas again, would be a good time to apply to ASDA to see if they have any temporary christmas vacanies.  You can find if you do well with a christmas job that it gets extended after and you could be taken on perm

A friend of mine currently works for Asda, and says it’s a very good company to work for.

Last year, she was a Christmas temp and wasn’t successful when they decided to keep people on after the Christmas period. However, she applied for a position at Asda a couple of months later and got the job. Because she’d had the training at Christmas, she had an advantage over the other interviewees.

Even if you’re looking for a long-term position at Asda, applying for one of the Christmas temp positions has its benefits.
