A banquet hall in Wednesbury is looking to revamp its current buildings in Leabrook Road, Wednesbury to be able to provide facilities for Weddings, Proms, Religious gatherings and conference facilities for up to 224 people.

The hall is looking to have a grand entrance lined by tall columns which will then lead in a main foyer area following into a main hall with a stage and rows of tables and chairs. The plans are said to be of a grand scale and the majority of the site will be taken up with the main hall and banqueting area. To follow strict health and safety processes the banqueting area will be clad in sound and fire resistant materials to ensure that there is minimum disruption to the neighbours and also to reduce any chances of their being a fire.

The plans have been submitted to Sandwell Council under the name of AKS banqueting and conference suite. The banqueting hall and business will be run by Akkas Sheikh who is the Managing Director and Subanh Uddin the Operations Manager and Kobir Ahmed the financial controller of the business.

It seems that a similar planning application was submitted last year but for a venue that could hold 450 people and the application was later withdrawn.

The banqueting hall will have to have 5 full time staff but will have approximately 40-50 part
time regular employees to work different shifts depending on the events that they are running. This is an exciting time for Wednesbury as the locals will be able to apply for these roles that are available and which will be a mixture of different roles to be able to run these events.

The new site will also need a further 54 car parking spaces which is 13 more than they planned for originally but it will be a monitored car park to make the process a lot smoother and traffic to flow easily.
