A first for Boyes store means new jobs for Brigg
Home store Boyes is continuing its success by opening its 43rd store, located in Brigg, its first in North Lincolnshire. The company is expected to create up to 25 jobs when it opens in October.
Boyes is moving into the former Brown and Co auction house in Brigg’s Market Place and is hoping that the store will offer something different to the town’s shoppers. The company sells a variety of home furnishing items and other family products at low prices and has a product range in the tens of thousands.
Building work has started at the site but the company does not anticipate the requirement of major renovations to change the building to retail use. A spokesperson indicated that the location was its preferred choice, after having looked at a number of sites. The site had been empty since October 2011 and the Brigg Town Business Partnership hopes that the new store will be a boost to the town and its retail facilities, bringing more shoppers to the town.
The town can now boast that it has very few empty retail units left and retailers celebrated by offering discounts to customers through the Brigg Town Business Partnership’s Amazing Brigg Week.
