Career change? Has this been in your mind for more than 6 months? Or is this just an issue with job dissaticfaction which can be sorted with a constructive conversation with your supervisor or manager or boss?! Or maybe there’s a similar position in a different environment (bigger or smaller office) which woukd suit you better.  If you’re not happy with your career, for example perhaps you wanted to be a pilot but landed as an engineer. In this case you’re in a difficult position unless you’re prepared to retrain for a long time! Unfortunately I don’t think you have a lot to do other than trying to make your job look at the positive points for your current job.

On the other hand if you didn’t study for years to be something then career changing is not impossible. By the way wishing to be a supervisor while you are a sale assistant is not a type of career change! This is a promotion where you want to take control and make a step ahead. This would prove that you emjoy what you are doing aleady and this is not our subject.

There are situations where it is not as simple to change your career, for example you can’t be a doctor once you become a teacher, except very extraordinary situations. Then you will have to learn to be happy with what you got or return to study for a very long time!

How to get used to your job without moving onto another one?

1- Try to learn different aspects of your job!
2- Explore software that is related to your area
3- Change your route to work
4- Change your PC equipment, mouse, keyboard, monitor etc..
5- Make targets and achieve (and keep a record of them!)
6- Read books about your job title
7- Find out famous or rich people that are doing the same job as you, computer engineer – Bill Gates
8- Learn new things and techniques about your job
    9- Change your shift pattern
10- Imagine that you are unemployed (best way to keep your job and make it you appreciate it all the more!)
