Temporary jobs boost at Glasgow retail centre.
A jobs fair will take place at the Glasgow Fort Shopping Park on 18 September throughout the day to handle the hundreds of temporary jobs that the retail centre’s businesses need to fill in the run up to Christmas.
The shopping park’s stores have announced that they need to fill around 300 festive season jobs and have promised that a proportion of those temporary jobs will be converted to permanent posts after Christmas. It is expected that 20 stores will attend the event to talk to job seekers and provide information on their vacancies.
Companies attending will include HMV, Asda, Boots, TK Maxx, Sports Direct, Game, Phones 4 U, Topshop and Poundland, Argos, DW Sports, Smyths Toys Superstores, H Samuel, Claire’s Accessories, H & M, Jack and Jones, JD Sports, New Look and Officers Club. In conjunction with Glasgow’s Regeneration Agency, the event will also provide advice and guidance on looking for work, applying for jobs and how to interview successfully. Visitors are encouraged to bring along a number of copies of their CV and their National Insurance numbers as companies will be looking to offer jobs on the day.
