Does the resignation period given to you by your employer include weekend days?
When you hand your resignation, you also giving a notice of leaving and its usually two weeks, is that including weekend days too?
Your notice period should be clearly identified in your contract of employment. This will usually state working days therefore not including weekends unless you usually work weekends.
For example 10 days notice would usually equate to two weeks notice.
It really does depend on your contract. Also, dont expect to be only giving 2 weeks notice without first checking your contract. You may find that you are actually expected to give 4 weeks or one month notice. I know of someone whose contract actually states you can only hand your notice in on the first day of the month!
I agree you should check the contract and read the small print. I would have thought it didn’t include weekends, but I might be wrong there.
I guess it all depends on the contract, though. Some may include weekends and others may not.
