Explore Learning is a children’s tuition centre in Stourbridge and they are pleased to be part of the new £50 million shopping complex which opened on 31st October.

Explore Learning are open for business during term time and holidays for children aged 5-14. The idea behind the company is to support the education system a child goes through in school with a greater emphasis on English and Maths skills. The children attending Explore Learning work with tutors once or twice a week to help improve their learning. The sessions last for an hour after which they can play games for 15 minutes after as some down time.

Explore Learning began its life in concession units in Sainsburys supermarkets where it built up its reputation. The attraction to Explore Learning as well as the extra learning it provides to children is that you can just turn up as and when. There is no need to book in advance which is attractive to some parents.

This new centre looks set to create a further 20 jobs for the area. Explore Learning began in 2000 and to date already has 90 education centres within the UK.

To allow Explore Learning to be part of this shopping centre means that a planning application has been made to be able to change the use of the retail centre to be for the education purposes. The retail centre currently has many units which are empty allowing for this to be considered but has had a steady flow of new business since its opening which a number of well known stores.  The planning application will be considered over the next few months.

Explore Learning believe that if they were in the centre it would also encourage the parents who are bringing the children to the centre to use the shops in the centre also increasing footfall.  The centre plans to be open 7 days per week and could have up to 100 sessions a day which will be bringing in a lot of people each day which could really benefit the retail centre.
