People says that competition in IT industry is really high these days so don’t bother going to university. You would also need some extra qualifications beside your Uni.

What would you recommend for me? What do you think about degrees in Computing, Computer Science or Computer System Engineering?

    Thanks

The IT industry is growing which means that it is not surprising that people are realising that it is a good area to be qualified in. When thinking about which specific degree you want to do, it is worth finding out more about which careers they will lead to. Consider what you would actually like to do as well as which sections of the industry will be likely to be taking on more staff. It is always worth trying to get some work experience, whether paid in holidays or unpaid voluntary work so that you can get a feel for the roles and work out which will suit you best. This will also give you something extra to add to your CV and help you to stand out in the crowd.

There are more jobs, because it is an industry that is growing, however because this is the case there are a lot more people training in the area. For this reason, you have to make sure that you’re the best that you can be, and that you have as much relevant experience as you can possibly get. This may help you to stand out above other applicants, and therefore make it more likely that you would get the job that you’re going for.
