How to write a resignation letter saying that you have a better job in a different location?

Have you got a resignation letter template for this?

    Thanks

I dont think a template is necessary.  Most letters should follow a standard format, though you just add or leave out bits that are not relevant.

As an example you could say something like

    “Dear
Please accept this as my notice of resignation, as stated within my contract I am giving you notice.  I have enjoyed working within your company and it is with regret that I am leaving.”

You really dont need to give any other information at this stage, if you want to you can include something like “I am leaving as I am moving out of the area” (if true of course, dont ever lie in a letter!)

Glenys is right, most letters will naturally follow some kind of standard format. However, it can be very difficult writing a letter of resignation. This is particularly true if you don’t want to offend your boss. A closing statement to say you’ve enjoyed it, had good experiences etc. is a good idea.

As you’re looking for a letter of resignation because you’re moving to a different area, you could include that as the reason why. It’s something you could include in a very short sentence, and it gives your boss the reason so he/she doesn’t have to wonder about why you’re leaving the job.

The best thing that you need to remember is that it should not be accusatory. You should write down the reason that you are choosing to leave, and leave it at that. You need to make sure that you’re still going to have a good reference from the company that you’re leaving if you should ever need it.
