    You should visit civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk in order to search and apply for the latest border force officer job vacancies.

    Start of your application depends on an online test and if you are successful then your application process will begin.

    Entry requirements

    • be a UK national with no restrictions on your stay in the UK
    • have lived in the UK continuously for the last five yearspass security clearance
    • be aged between 18 and 63
    • pass a medical examination
    • have a good level of physical fitness in order to be proficient in carrying and the application of handcuffs and in some cases be able to effectively use a police baton.

    Salary

    Border force officers salaries can be around £21,500 to £22,000 a year.

    Once you have experience then the salary will be £27,000 a year.

    Senior officers can earn up to £31,000 a year.

    Make sure you fit all of the criteria before you start the application process, because you could find that you end up wasting a lot of time if it turns out you’re not eligible for the job anyway. Also do everything you can in order to make yourself more employable. Take a look at what the job requires, and try to improve your skills in those areas. Doing so means that you should make it more likely that you would get the job.
