It can always be tempting to think that if you have to wait a while before hearing the results of an interview then it means that you have not got the job. Different companies may work in different ways.
It is safe to assume that they will offer the job to someone before declining the others, just in case the candidate turns down the position and then they have to offer it to someone else. However, an interview process can take a long time and even after a week, they may not have interviewed everyone. It is wise to ask them at the end of the interview, when to expect to hear from them.
What is the longest anyone has had to wait when being told they got a job?
