Lagan Construction Company are delighted to have secured a contract with Tesco which will do the construction and complete fit out of a 60,000 square foot store with 650 free car parking spaces.  Originally the planning permission was requested for an 80,000 square foot store but this was refused. The building contract will provide work for up to 200 local people which is great news for the local community.

The Director of the Lagan Construction Company said that they are delighted to have secured their first contract with Tesco and are looking forward to working with Tesco and their team.  The Director continued to say that they are totally dedicated to working with Tesco and to delivering a first class service for our client.

The Lagan Construction Company is registered with the Considerate Constructors scheme which shows to people in the industry that they are committed to caring about their reputation and the communities in which they work. It also shows that they protect the environment and ensuring everyone’s safety and wellbeing in their workforce.  They were recently rewarded for their efforts by achieving Investors in People Gold status.

The construction site is already underway and so far the works include concrete piling, steel/timber frame structure, composite cladding panels, glazed curtain walling system and stone and timber external features.

The new store will also include a customer cafe, a bakery, deli, phone shop, electrical shop, community room and also staff areas.

Tesco Store Development Manager, Bernard Owens said that they are looking forward to working with Lagan Construction on the new store in Banbridge, Bridgewater and to deliver an outstanding store to their customers.

The new Tesco store is due to be completed in autumn 2014 which will be welcomed by many shoppers in the community to have such a grand store on their doorsteps.
