Matalan are currently recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser to join the Merchandising team. As an Assistant Merchandiser you will assist in optimizing the sales volume and profitability of a designated product area.

Assistant Merchandiser- The role:

* Weekly and periodic sales and stock reviews
* Identification of key “open to buy” opportunities
* Re-forecasting of core line stock and sales, reviewing forward intake requirements
* Maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data reports and analysis on a weekly basis
* Complete range plans ensuring a balanced product offer is bought
* Identify and monitor sales performance of markdown lines in order to reduce terminal stock
* Deputise in the Merchandisers absence

Assistant Merchandiser- The candidate:

* Ideally a graduate
* Minimum of 18months experience in a similar role or as a Trainee Merchandiser
* High standard of numerical and analytical ability
* Tenacious and flexible attitude to work
* Commercial awareness
