Food and fashion retailer Marks & Spencer is to leave the high street in Ashton under Lyne to move to a larger site at the Ashton Moss Retail Park.
The move will create 53 additional jobs when it relocates, taking the total number of employees to 133 at the new site.
The 45,000 sq ft branch on Lord Sheldon Way has improved new features that will include men’s suits, a 98 seat café, an in-store bakery, a bigger food hall and an M&S at Home section. The Per Una, Indigo and Classic women’s ranges will also be extended, as will the Blue Harbour and M&S Man.
The new enhanced M&S store is due to open at the end of this month. All 80 staff presently employed at the Ashton town centre site will be moving to the new branch at the retail park.
Ashton Moss Retail Park includes 60,000 sq m of leisure development, including restaurants, cinema and bowling alley, 80,000 sq m of warehouse and distribution space and 50,000 sq m of retail.
