Operations manager salary – What are the average pay rates for a operations manager job in the UK?
As an operations manager, you are responsible for the management of all the operations of your business. This can be varied and include simple tasks to complex ones. Your duties may include managing HR, payroll, budgets, operational systems and processes, long term planning, supervising individual office managers and generally ensuring all aspects of the business are working effectively.
Your key attributes would be organisational skills, leadership, communication and problem solving. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills are needed and the ability to process complex information regarding any aspect of the business is essential. Management skills are essential, including people management and financial management. You will need to be able to communicate with people effectively and report and analyse information accurately.
To work as an operations manager, you will need to prove you are responsible and capable of running all operations. The qualifications needed will depend on the organisation you are applying to but most roles will require excellent English and Maths, with evidence of budget and financial planning, management skills and a strong understanding of business operations within your industry.
Starting salary: £25,000
Experienced salary: £30,000 -£35,000
