    PC World interview

I have an interview with PC World on next Monday and pretty nervous about it. I wondered if anyone had this interview before and have something to say about it to me.

    Its a sale adviser job.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi James,

What to wear is important so choose something smart. Black trousers and white tshirt and black shoes are always fine. You should look smart and clean!

Take a copy of your CV incase they want to see it one more time before they decide. It’s good to look prepared anyway.

You may have a group interview depending on the number of applicants.

My only tip for the group interview is, be a team player not a competitor!

Here are some of the typical interview questions for you to check out:

    • Why PC World?
    • Why do you want to work here?
    • What do you know about PC World?
    • Tell me about yourself.
    • What are your strengths?
    • What are your weaknesses?
    • Why do you want this job?
    • Where would you like to be in your career five years from now?
    • What’s your ideal company?
    • What attracted you to this company?
    • Why should we hire you?
    • What did you like least about your last job?
    • When were you most satisfied in your job?
    • What can you do for us that other candidates can’t?
    • What were the responsibilities of your last position?
    • Why are you leaving your present job?
    • What do you know about this industry?
    • What do you know about our company?
    • Do you have any questions for me?

    Good luck !

    Hi There,

The first thing to remember with an interview is that it’s just that- and interview. It’s not an interrogation and I personally find it easiest to get through an interview by pretending to myself that I already have the job, and that helps you to relax and answer questions more calmly.

You didnt say what role you had applied for. A high street Electricals store they are going to be looking for someone who is capable of serving the public in a friendly and helpful manner, whilst looking smart and presentable. A combination of a smart skirt or trousers, with a smart shirt or jumper would look smart.

Usually in these types of interviews you will be expected to answer a range of questions about working in customer facing environments and assisting customers, as well as answering questions about any previous similar roles you have undertaken, so think in advance of examples you can give of good service given or how you have relatable experience. If you are applying for a technical role within the store they might ask you to demonstrate your skills.

Just remember to keep calm in the interview and listen to what you are being asked. Be honest, and if you are struggling, don’t be afraid to ask for a few minutes to think. Be sure to have  done some research on the company and have some questions of your own lined up to ask your interviewer, and remember, if you don’t get the job don’t see it as rejection- you wouldn’t want a job that wasn’t suited to you, so it’s important to be honest.

    Good luck!
