Is this considered to be too confident, or is it a bad thing to have a photo (of yourself, obviously) placed at the top of your CV?

I have seen this done before but have no idea if it annoys the potential employer, or just simply gets in the way – or even if it benefits you at all.

    Feedback welcome.

photo on the cv can be discriminative so i wouldn’t recommend it.

I have seen one person to this in the past, and its not something I would feel comfortable doing myself. As the user said about, it can be very discriminating, the reason being, someone can simply hire you for the week you look, or even worse, not hire you because of the way you look!

It is good to have a photo on a CV but if you are a fresher then I recommend don’t use your photos on resumes except if you are trying for model job.

I agree with the others. Don’t post your photo on your CV, just the needed details. Let them see you at the job interview. 🙂

I have a photo on my CV. However, it is a headshot only, with a a gentle smile, subtle make-up and smart clothing. I am not sure whether it supports my application or not, but it fits in well with the style of my CV and it is my choice to include it.
Some people prefer not to attach a photo of themselves for whatever reason and I think it is perfectly acceptable whatever the decision. A photo can create bias or discrimination.
If adding a photo, do NOT show cleavage, have alcohol, cigarettes or illegal drugs in your hand, and PLEASE do not wear freaky face paint or spray your hair pink. Most employers would just cast your CV aside at a first glance.
