Three weeks ago I attended a Apprenticeship interview. The interview went really well and the three ladies which interviewed me seemed to be very happy with my responses but the assesment after that in a test went bad but I got told the interview was the main thing not the test. They said to me that they will reply within two to three weeks. So I waited patiently and last friday I went to one of the ladies which interviewed me and she said that she knows who has been picked but she cannot tell me because it is un professional. So I asked her if I did good and she said to me “you were one of the better candidates”.

Now it is third week since interview and I emailed one of the people from the Apprenticeship and they emailed me back saying “you will receive a letter in the post, if you have not received anything by monday then contact us”

So my question is; isit a good thing or isit a bad thing that I will receive a letter via post?

Unfortunately it is impossible to say and is likely to be the company’s standard process.  Of course it is frustrating for you having to wait for three weeks for a response, but it is possible that you still have a chance in getting the apprenticeship.  Do not lose heart if you did not get the position, try to get as much feedback from the company as possible and you will enter any future interviews with more information and confidence.
    Good luck!

I agree with Job Hunter – it is always hard to tell. Many people worry unnecessarily about these things.

I would suggest getting in touch with them if you don’t hear anything by the date they’ve given you, but don’t think it will be bad because you haven’t heard anything in the post.

No news is good news, as they say, and if you aren’t successful this time, don’t give up.

I agree with the others.  The fact you had an interview is always a good sign.  Remember we have had Christmas between when you had your interview, if they have given you a date you should receive a letter by, then wait for this date.  If you don’t have the letter by this date then re-contact them.  The lady you saw cannot legally tell you who has been “picked” as a) this person may change their mind so then that would look really bad if it wasnt you and she told you this

there are other reasons she cannot tell you, but until you have the letter in your hand telling you if you have been sucessful or not, i wouldnt worry
