Santander is one of the biggest banking group of the world and came into the UK market last year by purchasing Abbey bank. If you want to get a Santander job you wiill need to have a telephone interview and then if you successful, a face to face interview with the managerof the branch.

These days interviews are different. Companies are using different methods to choose their staff. However they are still asking basic interview questions too:

    Tell me about yourself

    What motivates you?

    Give some examples of teamwork

    Why should we hire you?

So read the possible answers about the above questions before getting ready for other stages of your recruitment process.

Santander Bank might use some kind of tests such as numerical reasoning test, competency based test etc to check how relevant you are for the job.

The very latest interviewing method is role play based ones so the interviewer will create a situation for to you find a solution that works! For example an angry customer will pay a check at the desk that you are serving. Yoour job will be try to persuade him to make an appointment and open a savings account with Santander.

Whole thing may take from 45 minutes to 4 hours!!!

You will most probably start with a math test so keep this in your mind.

Here are some other Santander interview question examples!

    – Mr bla bla has a mortgage at £700.00 per month, he has been told if he go for a re-mrotgage he ll get a %15 discount, how much would his payments would be?

    – Mrs bla bla wants to take some money out, £430 but she wanted 1 £100 3 £50’s and the rest as it as long as she gets £10 in 1 pound coins. Your job to fill in lines next to each figure…

I just had the santander customer adviser telephone interview. There were NO questions asked on Santander at all. Interview lasted 17mins. She advised me that she will go quiet at times and will be writing everything I am saying. So I spoke quite slowly for her to type. Made it easier for both of us.

    1. A time you provided excellent customer service.
    2. A time you built a good relationship with a customer.
    3. A time you worked in a team to accomplish the same goal.
    4. A time you had to work accurately.

She was very nice and friendly. She also asked follow-up questions (sometimes asking me about stuff I had mentioned already.. but maybe she did not get to type it). e.g. how did you communicate when you were working in that team? or how do you think making this good relationship with the customer will help the business?

    Good luck.

    Salman.
