Sitel Jobs – Accrington Call Centre Closes – 250 Redundancies

250 workers will now be facing joblessness after Sitel is closing their Accrington & Lancashire call centers.

On Wednesday afternoon, staffs at the Globe Centre office stated the news.
Sitel is a US-based outsourcing farm that processes internet based holiday bookings & it’s assumed that one of the farm’s main clients, Expedia, wishes to have all its calls processed in Bangalore, India. This is most probably what has resulted in the decision of transferring the business.

In order to book holidays, workers in the Accrington are in charge of helping the customers out by answering their questions, update information related to booking etc.
After Thomas Cook shut their center, Sitel took over the building in the year 2009. A section of Sitel’s workers are presently suffering from joblessness for the second time.
