Tesco provide 40 new jobs in Pitsea after the Tesco Extra refit. There will be both part time and full time vacancies available soon.

The Pitsea Tesco has been open for 15 years and has recently undergone a 13 week refit to offer more services to the locals.  The store now boasts additional departments including Baby World and larger clothing range and beauty services offered by the new Regis hair salon.

The revamp has created 40 more jobs for the local population and the store re-launch donated £1,000 to St Luke’s Hospital, Basildon and a further £1,000 to Basildon Council to support the Pitsea Community Christmas.

The new jobs created have been welcomed by many of the locals and Tesco received more than 600 applications for the roles.

Will you be applying for the jobs once they are advertised?

I like the Extra stores, there is one near my mum and one in a few towns over from me.  With the range of products they sell, we find we can ALMOST anything, we say almost as there are still things we cant (or wont) buy from a supermarket

I actually prefer it when Tesco expands the store rather than creating a completely different one just down the road. I think it’s great when they have a large section of clothing and electrical goods, as (especially for the electric goods) they need to hire people with specific skills and knowledge.
