The Range, the electricrical superstore, have put forward proposals to occupy the site at Boongate, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire which has been vacant for the past two years since the Focus DIY store which formerly occupied the site closed down.
The planning application to change the use of the site has been submitted to the local planning authority and if approved in January 2012 will provide about 100 new jobs. The Range have suggested that their current plan is to sell DIY, Home, Garden and Car products at the store if the scheme is approved.
The Range is a rapidly expanding busines and the latest year end figures indicate that has a turnover of about £250 million.
