Video CV – Do I Need a Virtual CV?

    Today, the question must be “Do I Need a Video CV?“. Millions of people spending their times on internet including your potential employer. They do nearly everything on internet including head hunting people and recuritments. We hear many stories about being found on internet by his-her current company.

    So it’s your time to create a virtual CV now and increase the chance of finding a job that you want, not the job that you have to do!

    Use your web-cam and start telling about yourself! There is not much difference then your usual printable CV when creating. Instead of writing it, you will tell it!

    What will I do once my video CV ready?

    Ok, are you ready to millions of people to see your virtual CV now?

    Upload it to social media!

    – Facebook (nearly 1 billion users!)
    – Twitter (500m users)
    – Google Plus (will be better than 2 above! (one day) )
    – Linkedin (millions of people are looking for jobs or looking to employ.)
    – Youtube (first place to upload your video CV!)

    If im totally honest, a virtual CV is something I haven’t heard about until I read this thread, is it very popular now? I think its a good idea that your potential employers can get a better idea of you as a person. Its alot easier to just write down your skills on a piece of paper, but having to tell them to someone takes more courage I think.

    I think a virtual CV is definitely something that will become more popular in the future. If you burned it to a disk and sent it to prospective employers, I genuinely think it would make them look twice. However, when applying to large chains I think such a CV would be overlooked.
    I believe it could be particularly effective to professionals with a high profile in their field of expertise, and would look excellent displayed on a LinkedIn profile. Definitely something that I will be considering.
