Ok, this is where you can sell yourself a little bit, but not too long as they dont want to be reading everything again that is in the CV.
Your best option is to try and pick out relevant bits that fit with the job you are applying for, as an example, if the job was in say retail, then any shop experience or cash handling or customer service experience you have you could add in, saying something like “As you will see from my CV I have from working with .  During my period of employment with them I did ”

Your cover letter allows you to talk about yourself and your good qualities in a more ‘conversational’ way, rather than just lists and bullet points as your CV might be.

You should include brief information about:

    Past experience
Your qualities e.g perseverance (include examples too to prove this)
What you can bring to the company
Why you want to work for the company

Some of the things you say will also be on your CV, but the cover letter gives you a bit more opportunity to elaborate on this.
