Hi all. First post here. Sorry if it is in the wrong section. I am currently working part-time in the evenings 6-10 pm. I am doing clerical duties and where I work there is no opportunity to further my career or obtain more hours which is my primary goal. Applying for jobs and being unsucessful. This brings me to my past job experience which isn’t very much apart from the job I have. I have been there for 4 years. I have a computer science foundation course to my name which is basically equivalent to A Levels and degree entry. I am computer literate and when my finances are better I want to get certifications and get back into computers. My query is, does anyone know of any free courses I can do which applies to people in part-time employment? I wouldn’t mind getting some qualifications as I work and earn. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

The only place I know that offer free training programmes is the Job Centre.  You should visit their website or pop into your local Job Centre and discuss the options available to you.  I think they might only be available to people in search of work, but as you’re doing so few hours they might have something.  There are probably grants available for self improvement from various places too, so do a search from there too.
