I was in charge of over five hundred student’s unit allocations in varying subjects, including Mathematics and English.

I worked for this large distance learning centre as an NVQ assessor completing outside visits to various different establishments, such as young offenders institutes, Prisons, Schools and workplaces. I would attend with each student and go through their work with them, drawing attention to any problems and assisting in solving them, before advising on the next unit and to then progress the student to qualification. The subjects were varied, including Sciences, Engineering and Construction, and even Childcare and Nursing units.

Working for this large exam board my job was office based, but involved receiving postal units of students work to be examined and marked. The deadlines were incredibly strict so attention to detail and calmness under pressure were a must.
