Dear Recruitment Team,
I would like to apply for the role of Process Engineer as advertised recently.
I currently develop and optimise economical industrial processes in a small business involved in chemicals manufacture. The work is concerned with scaling up processes from the laboratory into the processing plant. My responsibilities include projects for designing equipment, understanding the reactions taking place, installing control systems, and starting, running and upgrading the processes. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns.
Specifically, I review existing data (also lab analysis) to see if more research and information need to be collated; design, install and commission new production units, monitor modifications and upgrades and troubleshoot existing processes.
I have to apply the principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to the process and equipment design, including conceptual, scheme and detail design; conduct process development experiments to scale in a laboratory; and prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts; assess the availability of raw materials and the safety and environmental impact of the plant; managing the cost and time constraints of projects; and select manage and work with sub-contractors; and ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.
I am now keen to progress to work on larger scale projects with a larger team and therefore am applying as your organisation has a global reach with, I believe, ample opportunity for expansion for the right person.
