Social Media Editor Interview Questions And Tips

If you have an interview coming up for a Social Media Editor then you need to make sure that you use your skills in researching to do all the research you can about your potential future employer.

The world of social media is a fast paced every changing environment and you need to be fully aware of the latest trends, can you predict what will be the next big thing? Any employer will want to know that you live and breathe social media and have a great understanding of everything digital.

Before your interview, ensure that you have read the job description and any information that you have been given to ensure that you know what parts of the job you can do. This gives you the opportunity to think of examples of work that you have done which is related and that you could use as examples during your interview. Maybe you could take some articles, editorial with you to the interview to show as examples?

Try and get a feel for what they have done in the past and how they are perceived in the market place. Your role as Social Media Editor will be expected to ensure that the audience engages and that the numbers continue rising with new followers.

You also need to think carefully about what kind of questions you may be asked and below is a list of questions that you can think about prior to your interview:
Tell me about a particularly good article which was under your responsibility? What was it about and how many followers did it engage and why?Name 3 main things that should always be on an Editorial Calendar?How do you measure results?How do you keep on top of the latest trends and what do you think will be the next big thing?Although you are not bound to be asked any of those questions, it gives you an idea on what types of questions you could be asked and this will obviously vary from the company and the person interviewing you.

Be prepared and remember that there is a lot of competition amongst Social Media, so you need to be able to shine above all others.
