Swimming Teacher Cover Letter for Job Applications

Writing a cover letter for the job role of a Swimming Teacher.

The role of a Swimming teacher is to help people of all ages and abilities to develop confidence in the water, swimming skills and techniques, and to exercise in water. Swimming coaches train and develop competitive swimmers.

In order to do this job, good communication skills and have the ability to encourage people and put them at their ease is required.

In order to qualify as a swimming teacher or coach, you will be required to complete qualifications awarded by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) or the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA).

Duties to Expect:

Teach or coach one-to-one or in groups
Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer
Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance
Make sure safety standards are followed
Check that life-saving equipment is in full working order
Organise and supervise assistants and helpers
Deal with minor injuries and accidents – First Aid Certification will be required

My experience as a life guard has given me vast experience in enforcing safety and health rules as well as the use of chemical testing equipment to maintain pool safety. I am also qualified to teach First Aid and basic lifesaving techniques as part as a lesson requirement for swimming instruction courses.

An effective Swim Instructor must possess talents that surpass the ability to teach a student to the physical ability to swim. I believe that my references will prove to you that I possess the abilities to be a successful Swim Instructor and will be a valuable addition to your workforce.
