Dear Mr Clifton,

I am very eager to apply for the position I found on your website seeking an experienced Waiter for your restaurant. Please find enclosed my CV for your inspection.

I have worked as a waiter for the past three years at The Gallery Cafe. In this time, I have gained extensive experience in what is involved in serving guests in an upmarket restaurant environment. I am also currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management in evening classes.

During my time at The Gallery I have gained experience in nearly every aspect of food service. I have taken orders and served customers their meals, handled the cash till, performed daily inventory checks, helped with plating up in the kitchen and guided customers through the daily specials. As a waiter for yourselves I could, therefore, assist not only in taking orders and serving customers, but also in a variety of other capacities in which you might need assistance.

I am smart and punctual and can be flexible about the hours I work.

I would welcome the opportunity of an interview to discuss my suitability further and I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely,
