Job seekers in the Wakefield area are being urged to register before 1 October for a place within a new employment initiative designed to bring together employers and people looking for work.

The programme, which is designed primarily for those between the ages of 18 and 25, operates on a limited place basis and slots with preferred employers are filling quickly. Those who are interested should log on to www.wakefieldworks.co.uk to see which companies are taking part and get advice on how to register and benefit from the initiative.

Each company that is taking part is guaranteeing at least one week’s work experience to the best candidate they talk to on 4 October and some of them will be offering apprenticeships and discussing potential jobs in the future.

Here are some of the companies that are joining to this jobs fair:

One of the organisers of the initiative expressed hope that young people in Wakefield would register to give them the chance to sell their skills in front of a large Wakefield employer.

Don’t forget to register yourself before 1th of October if you want to be there on 4th October.

Take copies of your CV and a prrof of identity in case you apply for a job.
