Bedford Jobs Fair Aims to Improve Employability

A new Jobs Hub will hold a jobs fair in Bedford throughout the day on 18 September in partnership with JobCentre Plus.

The event will have a wide scope and will include sessions on applying and interviewing successfully for jobs, how to set up in business and apprenticeships. In addition, staff from the Jobs Hub will offer all kinds of careers advice, including getting on to the first rung of the ladder, changing careers or becoming self-employed.

The Jobs Hub uses its networking links with businesses in the Bedford area to help people find what they are looking for in terms of setting up for themselves, retraining or securing an apprenticeship or work experience.

The local mayor is encouraging people to go along to the jobs fair and talk to the experts there, who could open up opportunities that visitors have not thought of before. He stated that he was sure that the events will be of enormous benefit to those who attend and praised the work that the Jobs Hub has already undertaken in the area.

No appointments are required to attend the workshops or speak to the career advisors and entry is free.
