Dear Sirs

I should like to apply for the position of Customer Representative as recently advertised in the local paper.

I am currently working in a major department store in the City as a customer representative on the customer services desk, providing product and service information, and handling returns and complaints.

Part of the role concerns inviting customers to open a store account and processing the application should they decide to apply. It is vitally important that this process takes place quickly and efficiently while recording all information accurately, which can be quite pressurised at times, as there are often people in the queue, waiting to be seen.

When I am working, I am also used to dealing with customer complaints and, again, I have to facilitate the right outcome speedily and efficiently, ensure the complaint is genuine, maintain a pleasant manner and follow up to ensure resolution.

At the end of each working day, I have to prepare reports so that the sales team can collect and analyse all the customer information obtained and processed at the customer services desk.

I enjoy a public facing role, am good at listening and resolving potentially difficult situations as well as analysing them and multi-tasking!

I am seeking a new role as I have been in my current position for three years and feel that this position would give me the fresh challenge I am seeking. I am used to working under pressure and appreciate this is a very pressurised role.

I enclose my CV and references are available on request. I look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

Yours faithfully
