Dear HR Team,
I should like to apply for the role of Electrical Engineer as advertised recently.
I have a degree in Physics and am currently working in the IT industry where I am responsible for the design, build and maintenance of electrical control systems, machinery and equipment. I work as part of a team which includes other engineering and IT staff.
I carry out feasibility studies for new technical innovations; draw up plans and specifications for projects, using computer-assisted engineering and design software; estimate material, construction, and labour costs, and project time-scales; test installations and systems, and analyse data. I also have to ensure that projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations. I have a comprehensive understanding of electrical health and safety regulations.
I am a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers’ (CIBSE).
I would now like to specialise in project management and consultancy work, planning, researching and developing new ideas specifically for the telecommunications, hence my application for this post.
