I should like to apply for the position of Housekeeper, as advertised recently. I have worked in both private households and hotels my entire career and have an impeccable track record.
Part of my duties when working in private households was to recruit staff, and take responsibility for their reviews and career development. I have worked in small family run ‘boutique’ hotels, catering for a very specific clientele, and large chains for well known brands. As part of a larger chain I was a member of the management team and responsible for ensuring that all my room staff, comprising the chambermaids, were fully briefed on what was expected in terms of the corporate brand and adhering to brand values of the company. Customer service and running to a tight routine are the two main principles I believe to be very important, and being able to run to a formulaic schedule to turn the rooms around quickly so as to ensure that the hotel was running to full capacity on room reservations as much as possible.
I am now keen to return to private household management and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this opportunity with you in more detail.
