Dear Recruitment Team,
I would like to apply for the position of household porter as advertised in the Northampton Times last week. I have had experience in a similar position in a small country hotel and would enjoy the challenge of working for a larger organisation which will give me the opportunity for promotion at a later time.
I understand the vacancy requires some knowledge of COSHH and risk assessments and I can confirm that I am aware of good practice and ensure that all chemicals are safely stored in the most appropriate manner.
I take pride in my work to make sure that the rooms are always thoroughly cleaned in readiness for new customers, and that every room is cleaned and tidied every day. I realise that there is the need for shift working, and I confirm that this is acceptable.
I enclose copies of my CV, educational qualifications and a reference from my current employer is available if required. I will be happy to attend an interview should you feel that I may be suitable for the position.
