I should like to apply for the HR Manager position, as advertised recently. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Personal Management (CIPD) and have worked in several different industries during my career. These include the airline industry which required very sensitive handling as it involved negotiating with the Pilots’ Union; book publishing and working at one of the leading Universities in the country, where I was in charge of business process re-engineering. I am now seeking a fresh challenge and am very experienced in most aspects of HR from staff recruitment and development, to drawing up compliance policies and handling redundancies and staff dismissals.
I am interested in this role as it is an industry in which I have previous experience and I feel that I could add value to the company by bringing in a fresh approach, yet providing a consistent and fair approach for both management and staff. My diplomatic skills were recognised by both the Unions and Management I dealt with previously when in my job at the airlines.
