AnonymousIt would be useful to anyone looking for work in the forces if experiences could be shared about the differences between working for the armed forces compared with other jobs. It can be a big decision as to whether to choose this sort of career and so sharing information about how the career could be different, both in positive and negative ways could be very useful. Thank you.

AnonymousI would think that there are certain personalities that are better suited to army work than others and you would have to know whether you have the right personality or not.

AnonymousYou very much have to work out whether you’re the best person for the job or not. You have to be able to take orders and follow instruction; if you can’t do this then there is very little point in even bothering with it. You also have to be extremely physically fit, otherwise you’re not going to be able to pass the fitness tests that you have to go through.

AnonymousI think that you need to take instruction in most jobs but in the army this is taken to a very different level. As well as this though you have to be prepared to work long hours, unsociable hours and be pushed as hard as you can possibly be. This is not something that other jobs would expect you to do. Maybe someone that has left the army could explain any other differences.
