Marks and Spencer Jobs Application Form

If you are interested in jobs at Marks and Spencer there are lots of opportunities available. Marks and Spencer is one of the largest retailer in the country. Therefore, the company employs a considerable amount of people all around the UK.

Marks and Spencer aims to serve its customers with exemplary customer service, and the best way to do this is by choosing the right employees. Selecting the perfect candidate for the job starts with recruiting the finest person for the vacancy, which means if you go into an interview prepared then you could come out with a job at the end of it.

There are thousands of Marks and Spencer stores across the UK, and most of them are on the lookout for both permanent and seasonal staff members. Another benefit of this company is its award-winning training program, which allows those with no experience in retail to enter with a good level of experience.

The great thing about vacancies with Marks and Spencer is there is a lot on offer. In fact, many are surprised with the amount of different roles that a single store can offer. As well as various job vacancies in the stores there are also a range of roles in the Marks and Spencer head office.

Store roles

Roles include; offering advice on products, serving on the tills, organising deliveries or whatever needs to be done for the customer. At the end of the day, as a representative of the company, it is your job to make sure the customer leaves with a smile on their face.

Salary information

Salaries for customer services assistant and sales assistants can vary and are not generally advertised on the company’s website. However, they range from around £6.50 to over £7.50 per hour as your experience increases. The company’s rewards package also includes an annual bonus, a 20% staff discount and a pension scheme. It also offers a range of discounts on products such as holidays and health club memberships.

Interview advice

If you want to give the right impression at your interview, be sure to prepare responses that will highlight your ability to serve customers and help them with their problems or queries. If you don’t have retail experience, you could give examples of how well you communicate in different circumstances, problems you have solved for other people and times when you have dealt well with pressure.

Marks and Spencer operates an assessment centre for a number of management and head office roles. This offers the chance to visit one of the stores and requires candidates to undertake a number of tests or exercises designed to test their competencies.
