Dear HR,

I would like to apply for the position of Office Supervisor as recently advertised. I am very interested in the ‘management’ part of the job, hence I thought this was the ideal opportunity to look for a role in a larger organisation which would give me more back-up so that I can delegate some of the admin work.

In my previous role, it was my job to look after all offices processes and ensure that admin tasks such as payroll, time sheets from the contractors, and office equipment supplies etc were processed efficiently and on time.

I have recently re-located to be nearer to my family for personal reasons; I was previously employed in a medium sized construction company for 2.5 years where I was in control of office budgets, arranging travel, meetings and appointments for the managing director, ordering stationery, office equipment and furniture.

There were also two part-time clerical staff and it was my job to schedule and supervise their work, organising office maintenance and repairs, reviewing and updating the company’s health and safety policy and arranging checks, and organising induction programmes for new joiners.

My role meant that I had to work with just about everyone in the business and had to balance a lot of different needs and tasks; I am reliable, good with people, a capable project manager and have great organisational skills.

I have undertaken courses in Health and Safety, Project Management, Supervision and some IT courses (Microsoft, Excel and Powerpoint).

I am now ready to take on a management role in finance or personnel management, as well as maintaining responsibility for the existing office manager duties and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this role further with you.

I am available for interview at your convenience and references are available on request. I enclose my CV and look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

Yours faithfully
